"Tales of a Three-Week Butt Kicking Crash Course that's Kind of Like Comics Yeah Baby!"

Yeah… That's the title of the 'zine. All 258 pages. ^_^ SVA was… interesting. I was going to write a day to day thing but I stopped after day 2 but maybe I'll scan in a couple of doodles. So…

Sunday- I checked in but they didn't have me listed to live in the dorms so I got the last rooms available. The first one on the sixth floor was half finished and the AC didn't even work. So I got room 435, which was smaller, but the AC worked and I was on the same floor as Antoinerz (ßEvil combination of nicknames… MWAHAHAHA!). It was described as a prison cell except no television (Was living like Sarah).

It was quite lonely the first few days since I didn't know anyone and my room was all the way around in the corner. But yay for Final Fantasy IX Art Book! ^_^ I met friends. Mari has a lovely collection of Art books, which I'll take off her hands 'cause she just has so many. Chari whose really nice but doesn't get more than an hour of sleep. Laura… should come to the next lunch table reunion. ^_^ ::steals Lillian's Legend of Zelda manga:: LOL, Link panty shots. XDD

The Teachers: Mr. John, Mr. Stephen, Mr. Keith (Thanks to Laura for adding "Mr.")

John, Drawing on Location- I will miss this class because I either never have the opportunity or never take it seriously. Oh, never be late to this class and always have a $3.00 metro card. -_- Well at least I already knew how to get to St. Patrick's Cathedral. Some how, some way John finds you. It's just weird some times.

Stephen, Life Drawing- Besides the lack of a model that first day and the back to back class on the second week it was a good class. (I can't handle back to back Life Drawing… @_@ ::fried brain::) The thing I didn't like about this class was that I didn't know what he wanted half the time. Did he want us to draw like he demonstrated? I have no idea. I drew that rhythm thing, that spiral volume thing, and then how I normally draw. But remember… "You're not creating works of art in this class. It's just practice." Anyway, Stephen helped pick out a few things for my portfolio and both Stephen and Keith said they would write recommendations, yay! (::mocks Stephen with circles::)

Keith, Story/Concept- Wow, can I have this class all the time? It's absoluately hilarious. Although we did do work in that class. I feel bad that I still don't remember much of the Scott McCloud stuff. ^^''' I can name all 6 transitions but I don't remember the meaning. I should photocopy those pages. ^^'' But its all about closure. Yep, yep that was the excuse to get out of anything. "Those letters are cut off." "Its closure." See how well that works? Anyway, Keith spent alittle too much time in Califorina when he was becoming a dentist. "For sure" was the answer to almost anything. And his whole "See? You don't have to get high. You draw comics whatever" speeches were not reasuring. ^_^'' Oh and he's an anime fan.

Tag team teaching was at its best on Fridays when Stephen joins the class. :D Can they ever go 10 minutes without interupting each other? It's funny though. Oh, and Keith's sound effects. Yeah…

We had a class field trip to the Met. (History of comics, who knew?) and we manged to loose the whole class because there was this one mini television that we all had to stop at. ^_^ It was funny that he was trying to teach us how to walk like New Yorkers just because he's walking increbily fast and we weren't. "Look at this. It's kind of like comics. See, you got that guy there and then in the next one there's cows and in the next one the guy is slaughtering the cows. See it's like comics. Who said comics can't be 3D?"

{insert trip to library and me singing horribly to Billy Joel}

Ya know what I hate? Steven and Stephen. In english (rather American as we should say) its said the same way. ::sighs:: Sorry, Stephen I've been spelling your name wrong! ::fixs typos::

Anyway, the last week and an half was fun. Lots of late night drawing and innking and trying to kill the computer. I offically had a problem with the Apple computers. -_- I have some computer curse. And those Linkin Park re-mixes REALLY SUCK.

Interesting people in the dorm. For example, Ulysses is a rapter from Jarassic Park. Not only a rapter but a rapter/monkey/zombie. ::nods:: (Damn it I didn't see his animation short at the art show! >_<) Another example, it took me three weeks to figure out that there actaully was someone in the dorm next to mine. ::nods:: It was loud the last couple days plus a new picture appeared on the door.

That was basicly it.

It's Monday but it doesn't feel like Monday since I'm not in school. Speaking of which I was just at the library to return Understanding Comics and to pick up my summer reading books plus my mom's book. Me driving is funny. o^__^o I didn't hit anyone. And the library didn't have any of the books I wanted. >_<

Yesterday I drove Ami and I to the movies to see Lilo and Stitch. Now driving is no problem but I can't park for shit plus I pick the worst spot to park in. >_< So, screw it. The theater never has parking. ::parks in Stop and Shop:: Then we had pizza and we went to mock Timmah. o^____^o Fun.

Lilo and Stitch was… strange because of the fact that Disney made it. ::sniff:: It was so SAD! Never has a Disney movie been so depressing. (Return to Neverland was kind of sad too ;_;) However, like all Disney stories they lived happily everafter. (LOL, Mr. Bubbles XDD) I'd just like to take the time to curse out Disney for those beautiful watercolor background… !@#$%^&*@#$%^&*#$%^&**()@##$%^&&()@#$%^&*(@#$!@#$^&**(!@#$%^^&&%(*(^%#Q$#$W##$%$#^$^$*%^*EGB%&^WT#&MI$&#$^%^&%^*%#&$^&%Y#W@##$$%^&*!!!!!!!!!

There.

I was thrilled with the 2D-ness and lack of computer animation.

Speaking of animation and depression, I watched the end of Slayers on Saturday. It's all serious then this little chibi Lina pops out and does a little five minute thing. Later on Phil pops out of no wherew and Zel makes the comment that the show can't stay serious. (Non sequitur!) ^_^ Yay! I learned one thing!

Bored… I've decided instead of finishing 435 as a comic I'm going to do the whole thing in a 12 page illustration to use for Studio Art AP. So why didn't I do that from the beginnging? Because I didn't have the time! (Nor the materials ^^ Well at least at this point I'll painting it.)

“You spend a hundred dollars at Mc Donald’s?!” –Laura
-_-‘’’ –Everyone else (Well... Chari missed the whole thing ^^'')

Hi! I’m back home! ^______________^

(Although, I wish I could have stay a little longer.) I’ll update on the whole New York City thing later since I don’t feel like it now.

FIREWORKS! :D

They weren't as good as pervious years at Bloomfield. The fireworks were REALLY LOW this year and I thought it couldn't get lower than the last time I was there (2000?). Like I said it kind of sucked and the bomb squad truck that was there wasn't comforting. However, the finale… Holy shit was that a finale. At first I was disappointed because all they had were the low fireworks but they used SO MANY of those little bright loud ones that you couldn't hear a thing and you went blind. Awesome! XDDD

I forgot about my "mood bruise" (Mood ring… bruise). Lol. Aww… It's kind of faded today. I don't know what that suppose to mean. I know it means I'm bored. ^_^

Tomorrow… ;_; ::wants to be able to eat well:: Ack! I'm not even packed yet! O_O And I have three anime episodes to watch! ^^'' Speaking of which Transformers were on this morning. ^_^''' Anyway… I have to clean my room! O_O

I'll probably be home on the weekend (Ya know laundry and three meals a day ^^). OMG! We were talking about New York and my Mom's like all she's worry about are roaches. Then my Dad says "Don't worry they don't bite". O_O ::dies:: (SHUT UP TIM!)

I HATE bugs. Icky. >:/ I won't scream bloody murder but I will freak out over them. ::cringes::

So, yeah… Tomorrow, New York City, SVA, three weeks… Last day is the 26th I believe (Student show 5-7). Ummm… hopefully no terrorist attacks and I'll try to avoid that whole murder thing that you always hear on the news from New York. ^_^''' Anyway…

Good bye!

1:15pm

Holy shit! I missed Canada Day! HAPPY BELATED CANADA DAY! (Talk about a delayed reaction -_-)

Okay, Good bye for real now. ^_^''

;_;

Remember how I said I was going to fry at the lake?

Yeah…*

Holy shit! It was SO packed! Never ever have I’ve it or any other lake so packed in my entire life. We ended up hiding away on one of the trails, which was cool since it was just us. Of course we found the other people that we were suppose to meet up totaling the group up to about 14 people. Man, there had to be something with that drink… o_O Hehe, fun though.

Ya know the Sprint commercial? That guy runs around with the cell phone, “Can you hear me now?” Yeah, we officially did the Polish translation. Wedge’s dad had these cool walkie-talkies so we’re like “Can you hear me?” But it was better when they didn’t have theirs on so Wedge and me were yelling it out until they replied. ^_^

Agh… Food. O_O We could have went on another day or two with all of it. ::sighs:: Three weeks without good food. ;_;

Later when we were leaving from “those people’s” (^_~) house Wedge was like “that blonde guy was kinda hot”. ::nods:: Sarah missed a shirtless Polish guy.

Lol, “Oatmeal” (We’ll just use Stan’s nickname for him) was there and I didn’t realize it was him till later. So, Wedge, “Oatmeal” and I played badminton. Wow that was funny yet really sad at some points. Damn Polish racket… -_-

Fun, fun but really hot… I was thinking about a song and kicked myself for not recording before I went so here it is now (Don’t get me started with the music they were playing T_T):

Campfire Kansas
by The Get Up Kids
woke up at eight, started a fire
had a few drinks, we all felt inspired
jumped in the stream, our shoes and canteens
the water is bitter cold
laid in the raft till it started moving
the current just sang, the song was so soothing
we stopped along the way
on a beach in the sun on a beautiful day
our boats collide, we feel the breeze
we stay afloat and make the most of everything
if i knew we had swung and ropes in the woods
missed all dangers, snakes and the floods
burned by the rays and next to our legs, the water so bitter cold
lunch hasn't saved along with the ladders (?)
wet cigarettes are us as reminders (?)
never trust a man with food, change of clothes, and a drink in his hand
our boats collide, we feel the breeze
we stay afloat and make the most of everything
the sun will set, the stars would shine
the trees would shake, we'd all feel fine
let's take the moon and make it shine for everyone
we'd laugh away the sunburn *
as we laughed away this day
what we lost means nothing
for the memories will stay
copped all the spots with no time to linger (?)
driver seemed to be missing a finger
i turned and looked away to the bus, gravel road and a beautiful day (?)
our boats collide, we feel the breeze
we stay afloat and make the most of everything
the sun will set, the stars would shine
the trees would shake, we'd all feel fine
let's take the moon and make it shine for everyone
let's take the moon and make it shine for everyone

Fireworks tonight! :D

Oh, BTW, I leave for NYC on Sunday. ;_; Tomorrow will be the last post until I get back. Hehe, I’ll try to keep a dlog of my New York City/college experience.

Wednesday, July 03, 2002 10:37am

And I thought it was going to be the usual boring morning, watching music videos, but no The Iron Giant was on Cartoon Network! I missed the beginning though. ;_; Tee-hee! It was a good animated movie and to think I thought it would suck when it first came out a few years ago. Damn that agent guy… GRR! ::shoots agent guy:: >:p

Oh, what else? What else? I mange to watch an episode of Medabots and, wow, that episode was funny. I expected a really serious manly battle type show. I was wrong. That rich guy! XDD Talk about a major phobia of bugs! And that girl, Sarah or something,… hehe.

Yeah, I got my daily fix. :D

Blah… I was at the URD Collaborative Manga message board (I haven't been there in ages!) and I still can't find a studio to join. ;_; ::sighs:: But I started to do a fan art for err--- I forgot the name of the web page… ^_^''' But anyway… Fan art… Yeah… and it's coming out crappy since I'm drawing it straight onto the computer. Damn you tablet! >_< Actually its probably just me. Damn it I made her look too young. u.u'' Maybe after SVA my art will be better. Damn it all, it will be better if I'm going to be drawing from 9-4 for three weeks! >:O

My mom is taking my brother and I out for lunch! Yay! PIZZA! :DD However, the bad part is that it's suppose to be 106 degrees out. ::burns and melts::

Anime… *_* I have three episodes of Neon Genesis Evagenloin to watch! ::eyes glaze over:: But I have to wait till my brother leaves… ::grumbles:: >_< Ah, damn you Serom for getting me re-addicted to anime! >_ I've been lacking in my "quote of the day"… Sorry. ;_; Here's one!

Serom: your gonna teach me how to do that right?
Me: sure
Serom: so how do you do that? make things transparent like tjat?
Me: layers, my friend. layers.
Serom: i don't get it!
Me: stay tune for tomorrow's lesson... "My Friend, Layers"

Next Theme Week Idea:
"How about we draw Osama Bin-Square Pants petting little kittens in bathing suits? Would that please everyone?" -Rob5765

Shit, I have to start contributing to Theme Week. XD

Well, my day sucked and tomorrow will suck because I can't hang out with Serom since she has those SAT classes. ::sighs:: Well at least I got a crappy episode of X to watch and, oh, two episodes of Neon Genesis Evagenlion to watch. This summer vacation sucks and blows so far that I wish I was back in school. How sick is that?! I /NEVER/ wished that before. ::sighs:: I miss the Lunch Table! ;_; I have a feeling NYC is going to suck as well. I have a feeling the dorm will be horrible (SHUT UP TIM!). This sucks squared.

I think I'm going to officially quit the mural. My mom says to wait till I come back... ::shrugs:: If my mom's boss was serious I'll be working there in August. Yay. Oh what fun this summer. I can't contain the excitement. But of course my life is always this exciting. ::sighs::

Chrono Trigger and anime will be my only joy this summer. Oh and sleeping. Can't forget about sleeping. I'm a very dull person, aren't I?

Oh man... Joseph got traded! Traded to... them! D-D-DETRIOT! ::cires:: And Holik (sp?) went to the RANGERS! WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO?!

Yes, very dull indeed.

9:48pm

Fuck Final Fantasy music... Chrono beats it any day!

Monday, July 1, 2002 8:14pm

Today was… interesting.

Princess Mononoke (I think I killed the spelling… maybe I should minus a “on”. ::shrugs::) was on Starz this morning and that’s always a bad sign for some reason.

I got a ride from my mom to go paint the mural. Yes, I’ve returned to the mural because I didn’t know if anyone else would plus Ami was bugging the hell out of me to go back. So who shows up? Juan and his girlfriend! We need the Real World set up so that Ami can properly vent. We’re were painting for about an hour or two when they show up and Juan lays down the rules for “his mural”. He states that he needs the help painting but before we do anything we must consult him and gain his approval. Right… Ami is incredibly pissed. I’m just like “where the fuck did that come from?!” There is a supposed design of this mural that he has change at least twice. (Yes, we just spontaneously paint random things on the wall.) Now I don’t mind it being “his mural” since he’s been there “working” longer than me but I’m not going to sit there and work for him.

Anyway, anime and manga. Oh my god… X. What have they done...! ::cries:: Clamp you must take control of your work! (Manga obsessed fan bitches at anime rant to come later. I must check my sources.)

10:41pm

Manga Obsessed Fan Bitches at Anime commencing in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1…

Oh where to begin? First off my rant is based on the first four translated manga and I only saw up to episode 4 of the anime.

In beginning of the anime you’re introduce to I believe all seven seals which some of them appear farther in the story serving no purpose to be revealed right from the start. Then, they throw this scene in where Kamui tries to claim the sword, which never happens in the manga since its stolen first. Kamui doesn’t even know much of what’s going on. He just knows that he has to be in Tokyo. Next, the whole big scene where Kotori first talks to Kamui in six years was ruined. Shit, she wasn’t even upset! She was suppose to run down the steps crying and collapse because of her weak heart, which is never mentioned in the anime, and Kamui carries her down to the nurse. See, Kotori, he cares! ^___^ What else? Oh Kamui’s injuries. Fuma was supposed to bring him to home and get a doctor, all that shit. Then the sword was to be stolen and Fuma’s and Kotori’s father dies! An ambulance never comes! He’s dead, damn it! And their mother did not die in surgery. What the fuck was that?! And the sword coming from her, I have yet to hear about that but I don’t think its right. Next is Kamui’s Aunt who reveals more information about his mother but not in the car and she does not get into a car accident. Etc, etc, etc…

Now I realize that you can’t make manga to anime transition prefect but I just pointed out the major things and some of it was so horrible. The manga is defiantly better than the anime. God knows how the movie is. It must be tough to make an ending when the story isn’t even completed yet. ;_;

Oh but Sorato’s and Yuto’s fight scene is the best! It’s so funny! XD What great enemies they are, sitting there and complimenting each other. I can’t see them fighting at the end. T_T

::Yuto walks away on roof tops::
”Where are you going?”
”Yamanote line train station.”
“Hey, can’t you make a cooler exit? Like flying off… or disappearing into thin air?!”
“Only a freak would do that in normal space.”

Hehe… Clamp humor. But you can’t beat “Roast Beef kite”. XDD
